Dear Experts,

We are going for upgrade of R/3 from 4.7EE to ECC 6.0. Similarly EP 6.0, SEM 3.5 & BI 3.2 to latest versions.

Currently our client users are having systems with the following configurations

Pentium III to Pentium IV with different speed (333 MHZ u2013 2.4 GHZ CPU)

256-1GB MB RAM

20-160 GB of hard disk space

I would like to know the minimum system requirements for desktops / laptops to run the latest versions of ECC 6.0, BI, EP & SEM. (ex.,RAM, Processor, Hard Disk, Operating System and its version etc.,). Please provide any links if available on the above subject. We need to suggest this to client well in advance for Hardware planning at their end.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Ramakrishna M

Hi

It is better that you keep 2GB RAM,160 GB Hard Disk and 2.4 GHZ CPU for any sap module like Ecc6,CRM4.0 or BI or solution manager

Thanks

Hi,

As per your query, you require only window desktop or laptop machine for end user. If windows are running this system then SAP will run on this desktop or laptop. There are no specific requirement for enduser. The requirement only run windows.

A sizing depends on the implemented scenarios, number of users and various other key numbers. I suggest you contact the hardware vendor, they will make a sizing for the hardware you client uses.

Dear Markus,

Thank you for your reply. I am mainly looking at the system configuration of End Users but not Servers. For Servers part, we will be taking the input from Hardware vendor, if you can suggest the minimum configuration of end user systems for working on latest versrsions of ECC, BI, EP & SEM, it will be of great help.

Thank you,

Ramakrishna

There´s not much change in the R/3/ERP part. If you plan to use BEx Analyzer your machines need to be a "bit bigger" - those tools are based on .NET and are VERY resource hungry (especially the developer tools).
