Appraisal Document - Column Data Type

Hello,

I have configured the Appraisal Template. I have defined a custom column called UOM for the Target Column. In this UOM Column I was to enter a 40 Character Text. But the appraisal system by default is allowing me to only enter 20 digit number.

Where can I change the column data type to reflect in the BSP application and save the UOM? Any help is appreciated.

Regards.

Shubham

    Hi,

I dont think you can change the domain properties. So the length cannot be increased(as far as i know).

Ok.. I can suggest you with this. Though i have not tried, i think this could work.

what is the value list that you have selected for the elements(Criterions)?

You can use the value list of type UOM and value list name blank. This may work.

Else. the best method is to have Free enhancement for your criterion for that column. you can define the property in the Badi for Free enhancement. There you can edit the structure enhancement_type and the table t_enhancement_elements.

    Hope this helps you.

      Dear Subbu,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I cannot use value list as their is no fixed list. The column is suppose to take the UOM which will be different for different jobs in the organization and for some employees it will be free text. User can enter any text in the same.

I debugged the system and found out that the number check is hardcoded in the code BODY_INPUT method of the Application Class CL_BSP_HAP_DOCUMENT_UI. There are lines of code which do a conversion of the input string to number and if its not successful populate the said error message.

So even if we implement the BADI, I have reservations that it will allow the same as the check is hardcoded inside the BSP Application Class.

Have you tried the same in your projects?

      Please let me know.

      Regards,

      Shubham

We are now using the Note for the column to store the text. The BSP has been modified that it shows note as an input field for UOM Text field.
