Explode BOM icon in PO

Hi Experts,

We are facing the problem that there is a Explode BOM icon in PO, previous PO don't have this problem.

THe PO is subcon with components set as item category Text and BOM usage is 1 (production)

Please advice on how to check what is the root cause of this, why there is this icon in PO.

This may sound silly,but many times it is seen that it takes a day after u create the BOM to explode automatically in the PR/PO.

my issue is now solved, problem is due to user exit we developed that block the Subcon PO.

Whenever you Enter Item Category as L in ME21N System will consider the Same as Subcontracting. For the Same reason it will show the Explode BOm option in material tab of po item detail.

If you remove the Item category then agin it acts as standard po.

Hi,

As shiwanshu said this is normal practice of sap, whenever you create a po with item category "L" and that material has a BOM than by default " explode BOM" icon should come in purchase order. that is system requirement.

By clicking that icon you can explode bom so that you can know, to process that material you have to provide these many components to subcontractor.

your question is not clear. As per my understanding you are seeing "eplode BOM" tab in PO, if this is the case then its standard practice by SAP

HI,

As and when you put L the PO behaves has subcontracting PO and in the material's tab you will find the Explode BOM icon which is the standard setting has per SAP software is concerned.

In case if you have maintined in CS01 this is carried forward to the PO and is depicted in explode BOM icon.

Use BOM usage has universal.
