We are running Win 2K OS and SQL 2000 Server Database.

can anyone tell whether do we have to shutdown SAP instance before doing SQL Database Restore.

If you are restoring a different database then the one running your SAP instance(s) then no, but if you are trying to restore the one you are actively using then the answer is yes.

    Hi All,

Thanks for ur reply. I did restore database after stopping SAP instance.

Since the SAP services running on database, Restore operation can not be performed with SAP instance on.

    Thanks,

    Vinod Reddy.
