Hi,
Have done SAP ECC 6.0 installation on MSCS clusterer with SQL 2005
Followed SAP installation guide and every thing went right without error.
Now after installation I can log-in when resources are on node A but cant login when resources are on node B whereas SAP services are running fine on node B and resources are moving on both nodes without any problem.
When I cheked dev_w0 on node B it says
1.Login failed for user <username\SAPServicePRD >
2.DB-reconnect failed
but
1.I can login on node B with SAPServicePRD
2.when I run R3trans -d its not giving any error.
Any Idea ???

Mani
Hi Mani,
Two things you might want to check in the profiles of the DI is the hostname used for the DB (this is usually the name for the virtual system) and whether you have access to the shared directories from the other node. Also, check this note to make sure your directories are named correctly: [Changes for MSCS with NW 2004s SR1 (Java or ABAP+Java)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/950743]
Hope that helps.

You did a local installation didn't you?
Here's what's causing your error: SAP instance on your install is currently running under local accounts. Also, I think that this is the fault of the SAP MSCS install.
The SAP MSCS install only granted the local o/s users on node A the proper access to SQL. The install didn't grant (or probably create) any users on node B the proper access to SQL.
There are two solutions to this:
1. Convert your SAP installation to run under a domain account. Grant the domain account proper access to SQL and be done with it.
OR
2. Make sure that both physical nodes' local account has proper access to SQL.

When you said "1.I can login on node B with SAPServicePRD", do you mean log into the O/S via remote desktop, or actually connected to SQL engine via SQL Management Studio?
If you meant remote desktop, then have you tried connecting to the DB via SSMS?
If you meant you were able to connect to SQL, then:
While SQL is on node B, log into Node A as domain\SAPServicePRD and try to connect to the SQL on node B. Is this successful?
Hi,
Problem solved.
When i checked login entries in SQL server under security, I saw that there is a user sprod1/sap_itp_local_admin but second host name (sprod2) was not there.
so I simply entered sprod2/sap_itp_local_admin with equal credential and its working fine now.
sprod1 and sprod2 are the host name of nodeA and nodeB.
Many thanks to all.

Hi,
Do it only for SIDADM and SAPServiceSID authorization issues as per OSS note.

HI,
Check with OSS note
Note 114287 - SAPDBA in a Microsoft Cluster Server environment.

Hi,
Should I follow this note as it says about DB13 backup,Oracle and NT system setting.
Whereas Im on windows server 2003 enterprise edition with SQL 2005
and there is note no 101896 included in this note for general MS cluster setting.
All the setting specfied inthis note is already maintained on its own.

Hi,
1. check MSCS installtion.
2. Both nodes are Active/Active OR Active/PAssive.
