Hello everyone,
I googled around for a while looking for an answer, but since I couldn't find anything I decided to ask here.
So, I have a function which processes relatively large amount of datasets (an internal table with lots of entries) and can take quite a few hours to finish. Now I run this function from a report which I start as a job in the background. I have programmed it so that it outputs a MESSAGE TYPE 'S' every 1000 datasets so that I can see in the SM37 job log how far along it is.
This works great when I am calling the function from the same system, but it stops working when I am calling it via RFC from another system.
Is there a way around that? I would like to get progress updates even when I am calling it from another system.
The only thing I have come up with, is to send an internal SAP Email to myself after every 1000 datasets. But I am not particularly in love with that idea.
Thanks for your time and help.
Greetings from Vienna,
Nick
