Problem with Background task

hi

in our workflow we have many steps but the first step in the workflow is a BACKFGROUND step. The problem is that the background job step remains in status IN PROCESS even after it has been triggered in background. The background job gets executed because it sends emails and updates some custom tables. I receive the emails and also can see that the custom table has been executed but the step does not show as completed and the step reamins in status IN PROCESS. any idea what is wrong in the workflow? the background task only sends emails and updates the tables there is nothing else in the background step.

Hello,

The most likely cause is that the step doesn't complete. Check for short dumps (ST22) or test your method manually to investigate further.

yes i can see some dump in ST22. I will try to figure out how to resolve it. Thanks indeed. Your help is indeed appreciated. I will update the thread with full marks to you. Cheers
