Assing characteristics (value) to catalog (QS51)

Hi, gurus!

Let me explain the requirement we are working with: we are trying to create a catalog whose values are assigned to a check-list. That is to say: ok or ko values for an inspection. Hence, when creating a notification, the users should be able to select a unique value for each catalog code.

Steps performed:

1) We customised catalog 1 through transaction QS41 in order to have all of the different code groups.

2) We also selected "Classification" in QS41 and assigned each code group the same class, with a characteristic with both values OK and KO.

3) We ran transaction QS51 in order to customise the very same selected sets that were included in the previous step. We included the sets and the classification (same class and characteristic as explained above). We also included a specific code for accepted and a specific code for rejected.

4) We ran transaction OQN6 in order to create a catalog profile. We selected all of the code groups (with *) for catalog 1.

5) We included the catalog profile for the notification type.

There are a couple of threads related to this functionality, but it seems we still miss something: when we create a notification, all of the possible values for the characteristic are included in the catalog. And that means that, when creating the notification, the user could assign both values (ok and ko) for the very same catalog. And we guess it ought not be that way.

Could someone help us, please?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

J
