Hi SAP gurus,
1. Can u tell the diff b/w Make to order process and Make to stock.
How the flow goes from sales order
Hi,
let me explain in simple terms..
make to order scenario is used for configurable materials.
Ex: Bus is a configurable material. seat, steering, tyres, etc are components.we will not maintain stock for Buses before we get the Sales Order , right?
Requirement type KEK is used to transfer the sales order requirement to MRP.
Make to stock scenario is mostly used for finished goods.
Ex: we can maintain stocks like medicines, ellectricals, etc before getting sales order, based on historical data (previous sales) and future projections..
Regards..

Hi,
Make to Order is the production is done only when the customer orders for it. The stock is posted with reference to the order.
Item category group is 0002 and the possible item categories are TAC and TAK.
Make to Stock is the regular material production and the material posting to unrestricted stock. Here the stock is maintained in inventory.
Reward Points accordingly : -)

Dear sabina
In Make To Order, items will be produced [only] after sale order is created whereas, in Make To Stock, goods are produced regularly depending upon the sales made over previous years and the forecast in hand.
thanks
