You need to create a controlling area and assign it to the company code. I don't think you can assign a controlling area drecty to a plant. As the rent is considers as cost, the controlling area is required.
SPRO --> Controlling --> General controlling --> Controlling Area --> Define controlling area.
There is another option to assign the controlling area to company code, make that setting too.
