Hello all,
I expose the following business scenario during an SAP IBP implementation:
We are currently in after go-live phase, however it's required to make a complement in the configuration that affects planning levels. So, it's possible that when transporting the model to productive environment some keyfigures and planning objects are affected or show a inconsistent compartment. Therefore, we pose the following questions:
1) Usually in the development environment, the practice that we carry out to make a total purge of the environment (using the Purge the Planning Area Data job) or in the best of cases only a level of planning level with its planning objects (using the Key Figure job) and reload master data, etc. in order to regenerate the planning objects. Assuming that we are in a productive environment, what would be the best practice to carry out?
2) What is the best way to backup the keyfigure data?
Best regards,
Hi Dagoberto
The best option and only option if you change the planning level after go-live is as below in sequence -
1. Using HCI extract all Key Figure data and Master data in csv format from the production environment
2. Run Purge Key Figure Data and Purge Non Conforming Data
3. Move your configuration to production
4. Do the Planning area check first to make sure there is no other key figure affected from the planning level changes
5. Activate planning area
6. Load data back in production
