GLT0, FS10n and business area

Hi,

The client donot use Business areas.In GLT0 table,there is data for business area.When I take the same GL account and analyse the postings made to that account,I dont find any entries with Buisness areas.

What could be possible reasons.

Hi,

When you activate new General Ledger Accounting, not only are the tables of new General Ledger Accounting updated in the standard system, but also the balances in the tables of classic General Ledger Accounting (table GLT0).

This default setting is there to enable you to use comparison reports during the implementation phase of new General Ledger Accounting to ensure that new General Ledger Accounting delivers correct results.Once you have established that new General Ledger Accounting is set up correctly and is operating correctly, you can deactivate the updates from classic General Ledger Accounting. To do this, deselect the indicator Write Classic General Ledger (GLT0).

In the standard system, reading data from the tables of classic General Ledger Accounting is deactivated. This means that the programs of classic General Ledger Accounting (such as classic financial statement) read the balances from the tables of new General Ledger Accounting. If you want the programs of classic General Ledger Accounting to read the tables of classic General Ledger Accounting, select the indicator Read Classic General Ledger (GLT0). You should only select this indicator if the indicator Write Classic General Ledger (GLT0) is also selected.

So as per above observation, earlier you might have business area activated in classic general ledger.

Its too critical, However i have tried to throw some lights on your critical point.

Hi,

Can there a be a possibility like, before the upgrade the client was using business areas and after upgrade,the business areas are not used.Strangely,I could fine only one business area in the system(0001) and the entries were seen in GLT0 for that BA.

That can only be the possible reason that your client might have used the business area before upgradation.

According to me, no other possible reason seems to be.

since the client is not using Business areas, while posting no input is given for that. So no data would be available in the business area.

But how come table GLT0 is updated with the business area entries?
