Hello,

This question doesn't really make sense. Work items are visible to every one you send it to, so they are already "shared".

Further to that, work items are not mails and mails are not work items. Shared folders are for mail and documents. Work items are also not documents. Work items consist of tasks - work to be done. They happen to have a title and a description but that's where the similarity ends.

Cheers,

Hi Mike,

A work item goes to the INBOX folder of Business workplace(SBWP automatically ).

But my requirement is to send work items into different group folders in SBWP(most likely under the shared folders of SBWP) based on some criteria (document type) rather than this INBOX folder of business workplace

Hello,

As I said, this is not possible and does not make sense. The inbox of the business workplace is a little bit different because it shows everything - document and work items. This is why you have subfolders for a work items and documents. Shared folders are documetn folders.

If you send a work item to multiple people, everybody sees the same item in their inbox, sharing occurs in the workflow, not in the inbox. What exactly are you trying to do? Have a look under the workflow folder, perhaps the "grouped by" views already do what you're after?

Hope that helps,

Mike

Hi Mike,

I investigated on my requirements further.

The INBOX of business workplace has the work items grouped under separate groups based on :task, content, content type or sort key.

Example: Under each of the above mentioned grouping we have work items further grouped under individual tasks (i.e all work items belonging to one task will be seen under grouped according to task --> task name -- > all work items for this task ) similiarly for all other grouping criteria.

My question is can I group work items based on a particular field(container value in the work item text) ?

i.e. if one work item text is : create "PO invoice" where PO invoice is an expression(container value )

second work item text is : creat "Credit note" here "credit note is again a container value.

But both of them use the same task.

Then can I have them grouped separately as PO invoice (having all work items which have work item text as creat "Po invoice" )

and Credit note (having all work items with work item text as create "Credit note"

Not quite, but dynamic columns will do a lot of what you're after. Look at SWL1, there's also a fair bit of info in the help and a few posts in here.

Have a look at the " wf_bwp_select_filter " BADI which can be used to restrict the number

of items seen in the workplace.
