This would still be the procedure for the ABAP support packages. If you need to apply J2EE support packages, these would be done using JSPM at the operating system level.

Even for SolMan also application of ABAP Support packs is the same as that of R/3.

For application of Java Stacks (Java Support Packs) it has to be done using JSPM at the OS level.

      Hi,

I recently did support packs to solman and i referenced an oss note 662441. It recommends updating ST-SER first with SAINT only. this package has dependencies on other support packs. When you upload this ST-SER package using SAINT and try to process it, it may fail and produce a list of packs it is looking for as preconditions. download these, upload into EPS/in using SAPCAR and meet all the pre-conditions it needs. once done it will process ST-SER and define the queues itself. It will take a very long time so best to make sure you meet the preconditions and process it as background.

Also you may know this already but ensure you have the latest kernel, SAPCAR , R3trans and tp programs into the exe directort otherwise some packs may fail. there also some oss notes you need to apply to remove certain syntax errors and bugs in the transactions.

I did these using only SAINT and applied the oss notes relevant to the functionality the apps teams were interested in.

      hope it helps.

      Mani
