PR to be raised from Reservation number.

I raise a Maintenance Order. I assign a material. There is no Stock of Material in Stores. I save the Order. Reservation number is generated. Is there any possibility of converting this reservation number to PR for raising PO.

Using the Configuration settings OIOE you change the settings like instead of creating Reservation number you consider the PR Immidately/ after Release

Then in functions and Settings of PM order type

You need to define Account Assignment Cat. and Document Type for Purchase Requisitions you have to maintain the PR doc type and Acc.Assignment category.

If your requirement of material is only for this maintenance order then under "Components" Tab, specify the material, qty, and Item Category as "N i.e. Non-stock item". And at the end of the table you will get the column as "Res./Purc. req." here select "3 - Immediately". It will create a Purchase Requisition immediately and then convert it to PO and then do GR, this component will get consumed against this maintenance order at the time of GR itself.

But, if you select Item Category as "L i.e. Stock Item" then it will create a Reservation for the required quantity. And then you have to run MRP for the required material in MD02, here if stock is available then system will not generate any PR, if stock is not enough then PR will get generated and then covert to PR and then do GR. When stock is available then do GI in MIGO or MB1A against maintenance order or Reservation.

Through MRP if the Material is not available then using the reservations PR can be generated.
