Can We change the Name of the fields displayed

Hi Guys,

In SAP report or in the output produced by SAP, we can choose the fields and display the output with the required fields.

Is it possible to change the name of those fields anywhere?

For example we have a field like Vendor. Can i change it to something else?

hi,

theoretically it is possible, you need to change the description of the data element (in SE11), but this would mean changing standard SAP, which is not really suggested... You'll have lots of troubles afterwards... Your own reports you can build with whatever text you want, but leave the standard as it is...

Thanks for the reply.It was very helpful.

I am not looking at changing the field name througgout SAP.

I just want the field names changed in the output generated by the automatic program. after the APP is run, I can see the list of all the payments made with the names of the fields on the top.

I want to change the names of those fields only for that particular output. Is it possible..

if the output is made by a standard program, than see what I wrote above. If it is customer program or you can replace that standard program with customer one, than of course, you can go ahead and change.
