Developer Workplace SR1 vs SR2

Hello all,

Our EP instance, according to our BASIS team is on SR2. Is there any conflict when our portal developers use Developer Workplace SR1?

We have an SR2 Developer Workplace installer but lacking / or lost the MaxDB RDBMS installer. Is there any alternative route to have our SAP J2EE engine installed in our local workstations?
