ME54N in Workflow

We are using tcode ME54N in our PR approval workflow.

We have run across a situation where the PR is in the first approver's inbox. Then the creator of the PR deletes the line item. The work item stays in the approvers inbox and there is no way to remove it. The approver can open the item but cannot do anything.

Our work-around has been to restore the line item, have the approver reject the item and then delete it.

Is there any way to remove the deleted item from the approvers inbox without this work around?

THanks.

Easy way, add the changed or deleted event to the terminating event of the approval task. It should take care of logically deleting the existing WI.

Yes, Imthiaz's option is definitely a better one. We did it the complicated way because we had other logic that needed to be applied rather than simply terminating. Good luck.

I've done something similar by creating a ZCHANGED event on the business object. You can then have a fork in the workflow to listen for ZCHANGED. You can use a check function to determine of the line items were deleted and then end the workflow if necessary. This may or may not work in your scenario but it might be an option.
