Sending an Alert

Hi All,

I like to use this function to send a message to a specific user regarding some issue related to a transaction. In this case i do not want to use the pre-defined alerts but I want to manually compose an alert / message and send it to specific user internally. How to send it ?

Thanks

SV Reddy

    HI S V Reddy

The query supplied will work. One suggestion is to unselect the "Save History" tick box on the alert. This will overwrite the same message every time it runs in the inbox.

    Kind regards

    Hi S V Reddy

Click on email button on toolbar, and click on no for adding edited report. Click on add recipients and choose the internal user from the users tab by ticking the box on the right. Click on OK. Now click on the Int. (internal) box and unselect any other boxed ticked. Now you can add a subject and message body, attachments, etc. When you are done, click on send.

    Kind regards

    • Hi Peter, thanks for the quick reply

say for example if I create a new sales opportunity document no.12 in the SAP B1 system, and i want a user automatically notified (without creating or composing a message and send to the users) that the new sales opportunity is created and he need to work on it. is it possible in B1 system? do you think such functionality is available?

      Thanks

    Hi S V Reddy

If you want the system to automatically send a notice, you must use the alert service with a query and set how often this will run. If you set it to 10 minute intervals for example, then there could be a slight delay before the user is notified.

    Hope this helps

Can you give me an idea on how to write a query when we create a new sales opportunity the alert should be sent automatically to the users.

    thanks

Create a new alert based on the following query. This alerts when there is a new Sales Oppurtunity.

      SELECT T0.OpprId, T0.OpenDate, T0.CardCode, T0.CardName, T0.Territory, T0.Name, T0.Industry FROM OOPR T0 WHERE T0.OpenDate={ fn CURDATE() } and T0.U_alert='Y'

Add an UDF called 'Alert' with values like 'Y - Yes' and 'N - No'. Set the default value for the UDF to 'Y - Yes'

Now the alert will be created when new Sales Oppurtunity is added. After the alert is received, the user should manually change the Status of the 'U_alert' field in Sales Oppurtunity to 'N - No' otherwise the alert is displayed repetedly.
