Hi All,

I have some issues with costing sheet.

1.if i assgin overhead group in Raw materials material master, overhead is not applying to my finished goods or semi finished goods?is this standard SAP?

2.I can popuplate overhead group field in material master for only Semi finished and finished goods to calculate?this is not solving my problem.because i have semi-finished goods already applied overhead and we are using in these materials in finished goods and overhead is applied two times.

my basic requirement is to apply overhead to Raw materials only.not for semi-finished or fenished materials?or apply overhead only to finished good,if we are using semifinished goods in finished goods.how it is possible.

any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Rau

Hi,

If you are using the semi finished product in your finished product then yoy should apply the overhead group to only semi finished product but not to finished product. Whenever you will run the standard costing for Semi Finished product, all the material cost will be applied to Semi finished product. Now when you run the costing for finished product, whole cost of Semi finished product will be loaded on Finished Product, in such case you do not need to maintain the overhead group for Finished Product.

I hope you are clear now

overhead group assigned to raw materials makes no sense since you don't calculate overhead for raw materials since you don't produce them (there are no production orders)

you wont applie overhead twice if you chose the correct base (i.e. cost of equipment and workforce)

cheers
