Problem in Strings.

Hi Gurus,

The following 4 messages contain wild cards characters, we need to have matching logic to deal with them.

Line (a), the ##### is a quantity and will change every time.

Line(b), the T0SW can change , the BOL #1 too.

Line©, same as line (b).

Line (d) the #####, P032, T0AX 0001 can all change

Line (e) OIA11-ASQTY(1) is the name of a field on the screen and can change.

(a) TARGET QTY OF REFERENCE: ##### UGL (TOTAL REFERENCED: ##### UGL)

(b) 002 MULTIPLE DELIVERIES MATCH SELECTION CRITERIA: TRML: T0SW BOL #1:

© 003 NO DELIVERIES MATCH SELECTION CRITERIA: TRML: T0SB BOL # 1:

(d) DEFICIT OF SL UNRESTRICTED-USE ##### UG6 : P032 T0AX 0001

(e) FIELD OIA11-ASQTY(1) IS NOT AN INPUT FIELD

Please understand the question and solve it.

Thanks/Radha.

    Hi,

    If you are using a message class then try using the following logic:

    The messages in the message class should be written as follows:

    For instance take the first message.

    001 : TARGET QTY OF REFERENCE: & UGL (TOTAL REFERENCED: & UGL)

    ( All the variables should be replaceed with '&' )

    Now when you need to display teh message call the following function module:

    CALL FUNCTION 'BALW_BAPIRETURN_GET2'

    EXPORTING

    TYPE = (type of message like E or I or S ..)

    CL = (message class name)

    NUMBER = (message number)

    PAR1 = Var1

    PAR2 = Var2

    PAR3 = Var3

    PAR4 = Var4

    IMPORTING

    RETURN = return .

    Now pass the value of "#####" into var1.

    Hope this will help

    Regards,

    Swarna Munukoti.
