Hi,
I do have good understanding of Portal and Federated portal network.
I am trying to get some information on the challenges/restrictions of federated portal when the consumer and the producer are on different domain or sub-domain. Can someone provide me with some relevant docs/materials/links. Please do not irrelevant links.
Will reward points for helpful answer.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Mukesh
Hi,
I think that you need to have the same domain on the URL in case you want SSO. This because the browser client sends the consumer 's SAP logon ticket to producer portal only if they are on the same domain. With SPNEGO SSO setup independently on both consumer and producer, this should not in theory be a problem (though in practice it might be different

Hi Dagfinn,
Thanks for your reply.
I have gone through many articles/documents and materials provided by SAP and in many of the old versioned document it says that it is not possible to have federated portal in different sub-domains. But in the recent documents it says it is possible to have producer and consumer in different networks but I am unable to get documents those are for development consultants. Rather those are meant for network administrator, like the one in the below link.
I am looking for some notes which is simple enough for a portal dev. consultant to understand.
Thanks & Regards
Mukesh
