Hi,

Dunning Areas: Organizational unit that you use to process the dunning program for example, by division, or sales organization.

Use:

You use dunning areas if several organizational units are responsible for carrying out dunning within a company code. These organizational units are represented by dunning areas in the SAP System.

You only need dunning areas if you do not process dunning at company code level. Usually, dunning is carried out for company codes, so that you do not have to set up dunning areas.

Configuration Steps:

In Customizing (IMG) or the application

- In the IMG for Financial Accounting, choose Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable -> Business Transactions -> Dunning -> Basic Settings for Dunning -> Define Dunning Areas.

- In the SAP Easy Access Menu, choose Accounting -> Financial accounting -> Accounts receivable/Accounts payable -> Periodic processing -> Dunning -> Basic Settings for Dunning -> Define Dunning Areas.

Entering a Dunning Procedure: You enter a dunning procedure which the system uses for automatic dunning. This dunning procedure is used for the standard dunning area. You can divide your company into dunning areas, such as wholesale transactions and retail transactions. If you use other dunning areas in your company, you must enter them in a separate entry screen.

Prerequisites:

The dunning procedure must be defined in Customizing. You do this in the Define Dunning Procedures activity in the Implementation Guide for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

Procedure

1) When creating or changing customer master records, choose the tab page for Correspondence in the company code area. Enter the key for your standard procedure in the Dunning procedure field. You can select this via possible entries.

If you do not use dunning areas, skip steps 2-4.

2) To define dunning procedures for other dunning areas, choose Dunning areas.

The screen for maintaining dunning areas appears.

3) Enter the data for your dunning areas.

This data includes the dunning area and the dunning procedure. You can also enter a dunning block for the dunning area or an alternative dunning recipient, if the dunning notice is not to be sent to the customer for whom the receivable exists.

4) Choose Goto -> Back.

You return to the Create Customer: Correspondence screen.

I hope it will help.

If helpful, please assign points.

Hi Manju

Thanks for your reply

something is missing from your long message is configuration steps.

1.where do we assign dunning areas to dunning procedures

2. is it required to enter dunning area at line item level.

3. if we need to run dunning at profit center level, in F150 we dont need to mention company code right or do we need to make any other settings.

4. how the dunning letter look like, it does not show company code information or it only shows the proft center info.

5. if one customer belongs to many profit centers across locations, probably language would be the different, how the language would be pickup.(in customer master data only one language specified, if we run for multiple locations how these can be managed)
