SAP Segmentation - Too Many accounts

Hi All,

I have a new setup within SAP B1 using segmented accounts.

the format which has been set up for the GL's is 6-2-3-4-4-3-3-3-3-3 e.g.

"121010-01-001-0001-0001-001-001-001-001-001" This is unnecessarily complex

The Base accounts or Control accounts are all 6 alphanumeric characters.

What I actually want is a format of 5-2-2 ie "12101-UK-01".

As the GL accounts have already been set up I cant amend the format. I would be happy to use a format of 6-2-3 ie "121010-01-001".

My questions is - Can I create accounts using the format of 6-2-3 which fits with the first part of the segmentation and leave the rest blank? If not, if I were to delete all the level 5 accounts with the 10 step segmentation, will I then be able to amend the format and remove all the unnecessary segments?
