In General, Archive Repositories can be used to restore the repository in case of failure.

So it is always good to have a latest copy of Repositories along with you.

I feel there is no recommendation either you can delete your files automatically using Clix command using .bat file or manually delete files by going into Archive folder. Here only the case if somehow your repository crashed. you could lose your data in that case so to avoid this you should take New Archives(.a2a file) of your Repository at regular intervals and delete the Previous Archives of your Repository to maintain your data upto date so by this way you dnt need to stored files under Archive folder after importing from ready folder.

Hope it will Help you,

Hi,

Yes it is possible to delete the files under Archive folder. Just follow the below steps:

1. Create a text file which contain the below lines:

cd {MDM Installation Path}\Server\......\Archive

del star . star /q

Note: Instead of writing "star" use star symol

E.g. C:\Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5 Server\Distributions\Test-MDM_MSQL\Test-Repo\Inbound\Remote_sys\Inbound_port\Archive

2. Save the file with .bat extension.

3. You can schedule this file using Windows Schedular. For this go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Scheduled Tasks and create a new one by double clicking on it. Select the bat file created and accordindly schedule it like daily, weekly etc.

4. Now whenever the task is due it automatically executes the commands written in bat file and deletes all the files from Archives folder :).

Its working fine at my end...
