Hi all,
We have a classic scenario 5.0, would like to order direct material via the SC.
Can we use the Order as direct material, option. all follow on doc(PR) must be created in backend.
Any inputs will be appreciated.

you can use BADI BBP_CREATE_PO_BACK to change the value of field STATUS (Status of Purchasing Document) to be I rather than K which should allow changes to the PO in ECC.

Unfortunately NO.
For direct material SRM will always create follow-on locally only.
That is a standard design.
You can create SRM local PO provided the prerequisites are done.
You will need a developement to achieve what you are looking
