Hi,

TAE will be used for BOM item level components item categories where u want pricing and all at header level only but nothing will happen at item level if u maintain TAE item category...

hi,

as you know the item category is determined using

sales document typeitem category group higher level item category+ usage .

now for the BOM which consist of main item and its components, it can be billed on the basis of the main item only for which the item category grp has to be ERLA.

If the BOM has to billed on the basis of its components and not the main item then the item ctgry grp has to be LUMF.

Now for the ERLA to be the item category grp,

the settings have to be , the item category of the main item will be TAQ which is made relvant for pricing ; the item category of the components have to be TAE which is made not relevant for pricing.

Thus TAE item category behaves as item category of components of a BOM which is not relevant for pricing.

In BOM material,either you are charging for the Main Item or for the Sub-Item.

If you want charge for the Main item, then Item category group ERLA is used for the BOM material.

And the Item categoey of the Main Item is TAQ,

Item category of the Sub-item is TAE.

Here, TAQ is relevant for pricing & TAE is not relevant for Price.

If the immediate superior configurable material has item category TAE, a subordinate configurable material with item category group 0002 also has item category TAE. This means that the material is not relevant to pricing and does not transfer requirements.

Dear Friend,

the TAE Item Categories is for explanation.

It is used for the BOM bill of Materials.

When you Use the item categories in the material master as ERLA for the BOM to explode in the sales order.

The Header material or the material you enter is the material with item category TAQ pricing at header.

all the other material as the child parts are taken only for explanation with item categories TAE which is not relevant for billing as well as pricing.
