InfoObject XXXXXX is not contained in the communication structure.

Hi,

I've added an infoobject and two navigational attributes to an ODS that feeds another ODS, i went to activate the update rules between the two ODS objects. When opening the Update rule in both display or change mode i get the following error: InfoObject XXXXXX is not contained in the communication structure.

Some of the data fields in the update rule are now red and do not have a mapping. Having compared it to our sandpit version I have tried to re map these to the master data that is shown in the sandpit. The master data doesn't appear in the list.

A second update rule that feeds a cube from the ODS that has been changed is ok.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Colin,

Select the ODS that feeds the data to the other ODS -> right click -> generate export data source -> This would regenerate the datasource and the infosource(containing the comm str and transfer rules). Now activate the update rules again and let us know.

Hi,

Whenever you create any update rule, you have to have all the fields in the target (ODS in your case) to be present in the CS of the InfoSource you are mapping with. So here either you can add those missing objects in the CS of the InfoSource or you can generate the new InfoSource from the source ODS by using the option 'Export Data Source'.

Yogesh.

Hi,

Creating update rule between source ODS and the target ODS means the update rules are creating between the export datasource of the source ODS and the target ODS. So u check the datasource 8XXXX, whether all the infoobjects are present or not, if not add the required IOs and then create the update rules.

Hope this helps in solving u r problem
