Dear All,

My new client is a medicine manufacturing company.

Here after producing the finish product,it moves to stock.Now before selling the product they send free sample to the customer which will never come back to the client stock.Now how to map this sending free sample to customer in SAP?What type of material type we have to choose if we need material master for this free sample?How to send it to customer?

Hi

In your scenario,I under stand in most of the cases it is by downsizing the actual quantity and packing in a separate pack while sample preperation. Say for example after packaging the final product say a tablet it will be in strips containing ten tablets, then they cut it into five pieces (with two tablets as one sample piece).

If it is similar to the above scenario.. you need to do this by subcontracting procurement (say a dummy one)

Create a subcontracting PO document type with the free indicator in the PO to be mandatory, create a dummy vendor and go ahead with the further steps... MB1B ... MIGo...

If they are producing the samples separately it is straight forward SD scenario.

HI,

Please go through this in detail with all the links in this message.

Since sending free sample to customers is in SD not in MM. We get free samples from vendors.

Please go through the below link which will be helpful for your understanding ,

In case of sample export : It will be treated as physical export , means , normal export with LC or bank garentee.

You r right that it is a part of SD cycle.But i am concious abut the material master for this sample products.Any idea on this??????
