Hi,
The current live database name is ZZINDDAT with all the set up and master data.
We would like to use the database name SBOINDDAT instead.
Instead of following the standard procedure, ie, creating New Company within SAP Business One and then using Copy Express to copy data from ZZINDDAT, we would like to use MSSQL Tools--> Restore database and simply restore ZZINDDAT from to SBOINDDAT , will that cause any problem?
Appreciate your advice.
Hi,
What SQL server version are you using ?
Are you only one to rename the database ?
if database is in the SQL server 2005, you could rename ZZINDDAT to be SBOINDDAT directly without restoring it, except you have ever had database name SBOINDDAT but it still unused, then you could restore the ZZINDDAT database to SBOINDDAT database.
Restoring won't give impact, it is only replace the existing tables and their entries directly.

Hi..
Restoring data by using MSSql tools will not cause any problem.

Absolutely not. You can definitely do that.
Restoring the database as a new one does not change anything on the SAP side
