Input strings in planning

Hello,

I have a problem with loading custom strings to advanced DSO through input ready query. It is not possible to input values other than those which already exist in the InfoObject SID table (for the file upload there is no values check, it happens only when using input form). Is there any way to turn this off? What I need, is a possibility to input any custom string in there.

Thanks!

Thanks Gregor, but this IO doesn't have MD table, I see that the only place where the values are saved is the SID table, and validation is done with that table.

Additionaly, when using upload file function, there is no valuea validation, and any value could be loaded.

Hi,

I think the SID table is not the point but that the InfoObject used has a master data table: in this case the systems checks whether a value exists already. This is a features. If you don't need this check, use an InfoObject without master data table.

Hi Gregor,

I have a problem with entering new entries on a very simple info object.

My object is type NUMC and Neither Master Data nor texts are flagged.

Nevertheless when I try to enter data on a new entry, I get the error message "Invalid characteristic value in new row/column:"

Have you got any idea? Is it the type? Could I only use type CHAR?

Thanks and regards

Cornelia

Hi Cornelia,

the BICS Java based clients used the F4 help to check values in new lines, this may lead to this message. With note 2132510 it is possible to allow to set new values in new lines that don't exist yet in the SID table (for characteristics without master data table). The data type NUMC should also work.

Gregor
