Good day Experts,

My client has recently migrated from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4 HANA suite.

I am trying to source the Clearing Document for a particular invoice, which i assumed would sit in table ACDOCA. To my surprise, I found that the field sits in transparent table BSEG.

I was under the impression that BSEG does not exist anymore as a transparent table, but might exist as a view on S/4 HANA.

The clearing documents that i see in the ACDOCA table are incorrect.

Please shed some light on how this can be possible.

This post is a little old, but I thought I would reply to document an answer.

Yes, BSEG still exists as a transparent table under S/4 HANA. It contains the Entry View of documents, not ledger specific, so there is only one entry per document line. It is primarily used for open item management. ACDOCA, by contrast, contains the ledger specific view of documents, for all ledgers. So you can have the same document posted multiple times in ACDOCA if you have multiple ledgers.

I believe there are some fields in BSEG that don't get replicated into ACDOCA, but I haven't analyzed which ones.

ACDOCA also contains numerous ledger-specific documents that aren't posted in BSEG, that is, that don't have an Entry View or don't involve open item management. This includes certain CO allocations, currency valuations, balance carryforwards, and migration documents. Refer to Note 2297729. So ACDOCA should be your primary reporting table. However, transaction FAGLL03H contains fields from both ACDOCA and BSEG so it should be able to meet reporting needs on either table.
