Remote Cube

Hello All,

Please tell me does the concept of REMOTE CUBE exist in BI system?

Because i am able to create a remote cube in bw3.5 but i am not able to find the option in BI...if it can be done please tell me how??

Hi,

By naming convention there is no concept of remote cube in BI, In BI they replace the remote cube, SAP remote cube and remote cube with services to Virtual Providers. Here in BI we can create a Virtual Provider in different ways, suppose, Virtual Provider with DTP, here this is same as SAP Remote cube in 3.5, Virtual Provider with Function Module is same as General Remote cube in 3.5 and Virtual Provider with BAPI is same as remote cube with services in 3.5.

hi....

thanks.. i am clear but still to clarify,

... the way we used to compare data with remote cube and infocube., we can validate the PSA data by creating virtual providers and comparing it with the infocubes...

Hi,

There is no option to create Virtual Provider based on PSA, but it is not necessary also bcoz the PSA contains the raw data so u can validate directly from source.
