To link customer and storage location

Hi All,

We have a business scenario where we procure the same product from different countries (US, Korea, China and singapore) there are certain customers who want's the product which come only from US . For this we have created different storage location based on the country.

Now is there a possibility to assign the storage location in customer master or any other place so during order creation the storage location gets picked up automatically or else now we need to enter the storage location manually for these type of order (where customer needs products only from certain countries).

Ok i got your point,in that case you can maintain different storage conditions in the material master.

based on the above you can do picking location determination which picks the specific storage location automatically.

Rajesh - any valid reason not to consider batch management?

siva.vasireddy2 - storage conditions are in MARA table, you cannot maintain multiple storage conditions for the same material in a standard system.

Yes we have activated batch management. But how can we achieve this through batch management? Could you please share your thoughts on this.

jignesh.mehta3 already outlined what settings you can do to determine the suitable product for each group of customers.

There is plenty of good documentation how to set up batch strategies, including SCN. If you are not familiar with batch management - search for batch management overview in the site search, filter by content type document and start reading 🙂

To the best of my knowledge it is not possible to assign a Storage Location exclusively to a Customer, unless you go for a Custom development in Sales Order / Delivery.

Have you look at other options to restrict the dispatch of Products from particular Country of Origin to some Customers?

One of the options could be Batch Management, where Batch Master has Country of Origin and in Batch search strategy you can use Characteristics to restrict the assignment of Batch.

We have activated batch management and we use FEFO (First expiry First out) concept if we capture country of origin during MIGO stage how this help us during delivery ?

I or someone here cannot provide you the full documentation. But look at Batch Determination strategies, especially on Sort Rule (Sequence) - LOBM_COUNTRY_NOK.

This is available in SAP Standard and you can use it with normal Customizing without any custom Development.
