Hello, we get a corrupt table with the Advanatge Database Server 12.
In a binary field we save RTF-documents.
But there are only special characters saved.
How can we repair it?

There ist a tool fom SAP called ADT FIX, but we can no longer download:it:

How can we get this tool?

The ADTFix utility is not compatible with ADS 12. A request has been made to update it.

In any case, this does not seem like the type of corruption that ADTFix can repair. If I understand correctly, the structure of the table seems correct, but the data is incorrect? Does this occur right away, every time, or does the data become damaged over time? Have you used earlier versions of ADS without seeing this problem?

Yes.

It become damaged over time.

There, the problem disappeared after resturctering the table format.

If the problem occurs over time, your best defense is a good backup strategy. ADTfix always had the potential to lose data, and it didn't always address the problem.

Did you restructure the table once, and the problem went away for good, or was this an ongoing solution? If the former, what type of changes did you make to the table? If the latter, how exactly did you implement it?

I have passed on your comments with regards to getting this released for version 12, but I don't know when or if it will ever happen.

We create a new empty table. All data has been deleted.
The backup was also corrupt.

Jürgen,

I just found out that a version 12 ADTFix is being worked on. It would be helpful to have corrupt tables to test with, or customers who could test it (with no warranties) and report back.

Please do not post production information to this community, but if you follow me I will send you a direct message with instructions.
