No connection to system possible

Hi,

We upgraded from 4.6c to ECC6 and we had separate BW 3.0b. but we didn't upgrade BW to ECC6.

So now my task is to re-do all infoobjects, cubes etc in ECC6.

Now i'm trying to figure out, any easy method to do it via RFC connection between BW 3.0 and ECC6 BI, can copy all the objects back to BI.

So when i go to BI source system creation for BW 3.0 getting the following error:

Message no. RSAR501

Diagnosis

Logical system cannot be accessed.

System Response

RFC destination %%ashost=172.16.33.31,sysnr=,clien t=000,logon_screen=X does not

Procedure

Use transaction SM59 (for BAPI and SAP source systems) or DBCO (for database source systems) to check the RFC parameters of source system . Also check whether the system can be accessed in the network and whether the necessary application and system programs have been started.

In SM59 i can able to remote logon to BW 3.0 from ECC6 and also vice versa.

So i'm just thinking, whether i'm going on the correct path or this cannot be done at all.

Hey Ani,

I found the following on SDN:

Since your on 3.0 maybe Note 581273 applies to you.

Anyways do check the access with sm59 on BOTH system.

Hi,

I think it is possible to create an RFC between the BI and 3.x bw system u can ask the Basis people to maintain the connection.
