Is there any way to make what table the report you're designing is running from a dynamic selection? My problem is that I'm running reports on financial information that is stored in tables according to the year. For instance, General Ledger activity for FY2008 is stored in GLA_2008. When we changed over into FY2009 this month, we had to change the Datasource locations by hand on all of the reports to GLA_2009 and so forth for all of the year-based tables. Is there some way to automate this through Crystal Reports?
If your reports are stored on Crystal Reports Server, you can use a tool to batch update your reports' DB connections; it's called Schedule Manager, located on the Administration Launchpad.
Otherwise, you could use the SDK to create your own tool to achieve this. For more information about this, please go ahead and create another post in the SDK forum.
Cheers,
Fritz
