Link Material Type Item Category

Hi,

How can i make the link between the material type and the item category when the material has NO BOM ? Otherwise each time a PM order si created the item category has to be filled (stock or no stock). I know it is there i just can't find it.

Hello,

Can you brief me on how it works?

When i checked the setting of link item category with the material type then it shows me that the item category is to be defined based on the material type and maintenance plant. But what is the relation in term of the order type i.e. whenever i create any order with a specifica order type, the default item category should get reflected on the componenets tab of the order?

Can you guide me how to do this setting.

You can do the settings using below path in configuration

Plant Maintenance & Customer Service - Maintenance and Service Processing - Maintenance and Service Orders - General Data - Define Default Value for Item Category

Hi,

For BOM creating if u wish to create Item category L as default you can achive this on user level.

The path is

Plant Maintenance and Customer Service->Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service->Bills of Material->Make User-Specific Settings

Hi,

Rather make setting in your order type that bydefault order operation component should have item cat as L. The node is the order settings parameters.
