Material ledger activation for a new plant

Dear ML experts,

We have 7 company codes already with the local currency as JPY and have material ledger active for these 7 plants assigned to above company codes.

Now a similar new company code and a plant is to be created in Africa in the same SAP production instance with SAR as the local currency.

I would like to know the steps to rollout the material ledger to this new plant. Do we need to create new material ledger types or can we use the existing ones 0000 used by the above 7 company codes. Do the MM configuration needs to be ready along with material masters for this new plant and the stock has to uploaded before activating ML for the new plant. please provide the steps.
