Secondary index with steps for OSS note

Hi All,

1st step is to create secondary index and i have created the secondary index and 2nd and 3rd steps i have not understood can please any one can explain what to do after 1st step in detailly.This is used for implementing the OSS note.

2. Afterwards, the optimizer statistics must be rebuild for database systems with

cost-based optimizers.

3. If you use the Informix database system, the system must finally be restarted so

that the new index can be used.

Hi,

If you are a developer your role ends with step 1.

DBA will take care of the rest. If you wanna move the index to another system then Transport the secondary index.
