Function Module HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION

Hi Folks,

What is meant by 'Infotype operation' in HR ABAP. I need to pass the parameter 'Operation ' in the FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION. Could any one explain me hw to pass that parameter..Thanks..
