I was told by Basis and other security consultants that there is no audit trail with LSMW. What does this mean? I hear arguments from users that all their documents show who created it and when and that for them this is their audit trail. So what does it really mean when the gurus say that "LSMW can change data without audit trail"?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure what that sort of comment means... I guess it all depends on how LSMW is used. LSMW, after all, is just a "shell", used to configure and employ various standard upload techniques (BAPI. direct input, bdc...) For instance, if you employ LSMW to generate batch input sessions, these will of course have to be run by someone (yourself, or the user you employ to generate the session). Both the bdc-generating activity as well as the execution of the session itself will, of course, be logged and can subsequently be traced. I don't believe LSMW flies under the radar in this respect.
