I'm currently working on integrating BO reports with our Enterprise Portal as described in this guide:

https://blogs.sap.com/2013/04/04/integration-of-bobj-with-sap-portal/

However doing all configuration steps and dealing with various problems takes quite a lot of time. So my question is: What is the advantage of using the BO-iView instead of URL iViews?

I can overcome transport and system copy URL iView issues by following this guide:

Hi Daniel

For integrating Business Object in EP, it is highly recommended to use BO Iviews. You can refer the below KBA for the steps.

The main reason why Url Iview is not recomended is because of the session mangament issues. Portal Session Management is not invoked with an URL Iview.

Hi Santarshi,

thank you for your reply. Please explain what you mean with session management problems. Do you refer to the BO server session management or to the SAP EP session management?

We are actually facing problems with session management in combination with reports integrated with URL iViews. But this happens with the ABAP and JAVA stack. The situation with BO reports should be different, right?

Thank you and best regards

Daniel
