We purchased multiple copies of Crystal Reports Developer from Business Objects directly on 11/5/07. CD 1 has files with dates from March 2005 on it. The DOCS and WIN32 folders are dated 3/22/05.
I loaded this copy and then downloaded a CR11R2 update and after I updated my system the version number appears to be 11.5.0.313. I downloaded and began trying to load the various Service Packs. First I tried SP4, which said I needed SP2, so I downloaded SP2, which then said I needed SP1, so I downloaded SP1 (frighteningly named crXIwin_SP1.zip - no mention anywhere of IR2). After running it nothing appeared to happen and SP2 will still not run. So - based on advice I read in the forum of another's travails I downloaded a 1gig file called crxir2 - which was supposed to be a full version of Crystal Reports 11 Release 2 which supposedly included Service Pack 1. Now my program doesn't run at all. So I'm planning on uninstalling everything and starting from scratch. Since I haven't seen it yet anywhere, what is the damn process to get oneself updated to the most current service pack? Although I enjoy Crystal - I HATE THIS UPDATING PROCESS. Can we make it more confusing guys? Why not create separate upgrade files for each DLL? Just KIDDING! So - If you own 11 Developer - what do you want to do to upgrade?
Thanks to all who can keep me from going over the edge!
