Migration Issue

Hi all,

I have the following issue regarding migration. I am testing a migration scenario for our project. From what I read through the forums and other documentation, first I have to migrate the update rules. Then we have to migrate the datasource. The migration of update rules works fine. The datasource also migrates as expected, but it does not go with the transformation that was migrated from the update rules. It is asking me to create a new set of transformations. I am little confused here.

Can you please clarify if I can migrate the update rules and datasource and still have the same dataflow diagram as before?

Hi,

Actually 2 set of transformations will be requirec when you migrate the dataflow. one from infosource to the cube which you will get when you migrate update rules and another from transfer rules which will be from migrated datasource to infosource.

So you need to create one more transformation between the datasource and new infosoure.

Thanks a lot Rajani,

I was able to migrate with the help of the link you provided and load data. I need one final clarification. When I created the DTP, the DTP was created from data source to the Data target automatically. I was able to load data without any problem. Will one DTP be sufficient or should I have 2 DTP's (one from datasource to Infosource and the other from Infosource to data target).

1 dtp is sufficient which vl load data from PSA to datatarget.

You only need Single DTP to load the data from PSA to Datatarget.

Infopackage will be used to load data from ECC to PSA
