Hi Folks,
I would like to know the difference between entering the time thru IW41 and CATS..IS that tow of them can be used at the same time ?
In my test scripts I see both transactions in there.
why do we use CAT9 and CATM or CAPS.
I know ML81N transaction is used for accepting services but this has to be done after time confirmation or before that ?
Can anybody explain with an example ?
Regards,
Vijay
Vijay,
If you are talking about time recording only, then CATS is a user-friendly front-end which records time in both HR and PM simultaneously.
CATS time recording creates a confirmation document (IW41) in the background.

Dera Vijay Kumar,
As per defination for CATS in SAP.
The Cross Application Time Sheet (CATS) can be used by employees or personal administrators to track employee working times. Time data is recorded with information referring to orders and cost centers, for example, and can be transferred to corresponding applications and components of the SAP Business Suite.
So CATS It used to fill Time in conjuction with HR.
IW 41 for maual timing
ML81N for Service Entry.

Hi
CATS is to be used when your Plant Maintenance is integrated with HR module.
If you dont want to integrate the HR module , you can use IW41 for time confirmations(logging of actual time spent by the person for carrying out the operations)
If you want to enter the time confirmations for your labour along with the Personeel number (which is mapped in HR module) you can use transaction CAT9.
ML81N is used for accepting the SERVICES rendered by the External party for which Purchase requistion was raised which got converted into Purchase Order. It has nothing to do with Time Confirmations
