Data Services on Linux with WACS - "DataServices" link missing in CMC

Hello all,

we are running SLES 12 for SAP (on a VMware Virtual machine - no idea if that would have any effect...), and need to have DataServices up&running (for a Sandbox migration of SAP data from an ERP to a green-field S/4HANA1709).

I first installed BusinessObjects 4.2 SP05 on that SLES server, using Web Application Container Server (WACS) as web server instead of Tomcat (due to local security constraints). Root directory for installation had been specified as "/usr/sap/BO4", the installation into directory "/usr/sap/BO4/sap_bobj" completed successfully, without any error message.

On top of that, I installed Data Services 4.2 SP10. When asking for an existing BOBJ installation, I referred to /usr/sap/BO4, so DataServices had been installed to "/usr/sap/BO4/dataservices"; from the logs and the files I can confirm that some parts of DS have also been installed into /usr/sap/BO4/sap_bobj and subdirectories. Installation also completed successfully, without any error.

I restarted BOBJ instance, as well as SQLAnywhere database and DS related jobs/services. The log files in "/usr/sap/BO4/sap_bobj/logging" do not show any errors related to Data Services - especially log file for DS.AdminService is error-free (after generating the sslks.key certificate and restarting again).

Now, when logging on to CMC, the link to "Data Services" repository integration - as shown in picture on page 36 of following document - is missing.

https://www.sap.com/documents/2016/11/842c6eb1-947c-0010-82c7-eda71af511fa.html

My suspicion is that some XML files had not been deployed properly into WACS during DataServices installation. Unfortunately, for WACS there is no re-deployment available (like wdeploy.sh for Tomcat web server)...

I followed a suggestion here in SCN, to shut down WACS service in CMC, delete everything in the work directory of the "catalina" directory, and restart all BOBJ services (see

https://archive.sap.com/discussions/message/14508010#14508010). Unfortunately, without any success.

Could somebody give me any hint where to search for a possible solution? Thanks in advance.

Franka
