material number numeric only

Hi team,

I have customized the material type ,(ROH) to 1001;my requirement is material should be only numericals like 11000250,,,,,its asking for alpha numeric,so plz help to come out of this issues,,,,

In T-code- mmnr (i have given external numbering)

In attrributes of material types:I have removed the check box for external no assignment w/o check

Pls let me know, if you want Number Ranges for Numeric or Material Number input (MM01) only for Numeric?

Hello Muthusamy,

I have a issue in which the ROH must be only numerical nd FG should be alpha numeric,so i made a number range 110000000 to 1199999999,but when when i enter in mm01 its shows error saying number cannot be only numeric,so plz tell me what setting is required for the material type where it should be numerical

Hi Praveen,

For FG you need to define external number range that is alpha numeric and for ROH define internal number range that is numeric only.

Try this and come back.

Try for user exit for Material Number validation in MM01, and add code there for numeric acceptance only.

Hi,

As you mentioned maintain External Number range as "Alphanumeric" .

For Internal Number range Standard SAP does not support for maintaining "Alphanumeric" number range.

path: img>log general>material master>basic setting>material types>define number range for material types

Define Internal Number range only may your problem get solve.

In from number - to number specify,

000000000100000000 000000000199999999

current number as 000000000000000000

Use it for initial setup.

Hi praveen kumar..,

Go to T.Code MMNR and asign. Assign The Customized material type to group1.

i think newly created material type is there in group 2.

i think your problem will be solved. if not comeback.
