SAP IQ 16.1 patch with two different route SP01 and SP02 any dependent relationship between them

Dear Expert,

SAP IQ patches with two different route SP01 and SP02 if there is any dependent relationship between them ? since I checked IQ 16.1 patch list and found SP01.06 and SP02.02 released recently and the bug fix is not included in both SP01.06 and SP02.02.

If I installed SP02.02 on current IQ 16.1 installation system. Can I installed SP01.06 or newer patches on SP02.x ?

Please help to advise.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Robert Chu

Hi Robert,

As of today SP01 and SP02 are two parallel codelines for 16.1. Fixes are being done in both codelines. If you are going to upgrade to 16.1 , then you should go to the latest of 16.1 SP02 which is PL05 (an all OS release) or PL06 (LinuxX64 and SunX64 release).

You should not apply SP01 patch on top of SP02 or vice versa, both of these are independent codelines , should NOT be overlayed.

Hi Robert,

No plans to merge. Once the next service pack is out, we will stop doing fixes in SP01 and then the two parallel codelines would be SP02 and SP03. When a fix is done in a particular codeline, if it is an issue in other codelines then those fixes get merged in others as well. The readme files for the patch will reflect the cr's fixed in the SP's

Hi Harpreet,

Thanks a lot for your advice.

Just wonder if there is patch to merge those 2 codelines in the future.

Anyway, thank you again for your support.
