Do you mean the number of lines on your ALV report?

If so, think about it for a moment... You pass a table of data to your ALV which is then displayed so... Maybe the number of rows in your table is the number of lines on the ALV report?!

The number of lines is equal to the number of lines of the internal table passed to the ALV. Or do you mean something else?

The no of lines should be the number of records to be displayed and the no of lines dedicated to the top-of-page and the header (usually 3 lines).

U would be sending an internal table for ALV to display ..

say .. itab.

describe table itab lines v_lines.

v_lines will have the no. of lines ...
